Although CECEP has entered the fast lane of development and made a series of achievements, there is still a big gap compared with the requirements of the central government, the goal of ecological civilization in the new era and the needs of high-quality economic development. It is still faced with a number of outstanding problems such as low industrial concentration, heavy pollution control task, insufficient innovation in business models, capital shortage and weak driving force of scientific and technological innovation. On solving the difficulties in environmental governance and propeling the high-quality development of Chinese economy, Yu briefly analyzed the problems and challenges facing the energy conservation and environmental protection industry before putting forward specific suggestions on vigorously promoting specialized integration, strengthening source reduction and whole-process control, promoting the third-party management of environmental pollution, developing and expanding green finance and pushing forward major technological R&D and achievements transformation in a holistic manner.
