On January 29, 2026, the Secretary-General of our Association led a delegation to Jiangyin for an investigation into the development of the aerospace industry in Liangxi District, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province. Participating in the investigation were Vice President Ling Jia, Ge Lizhu, Executive Director of the Environmental Engineering Center of the Beijing International Society for Ecological Economy, Tan Jixun, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Taixing High-Tech Zone in Jiangsu Province, Lin Qianlong, Chairman of Jiangyin Hengxing Paint Co., Ltd. and a member of the Jiangyin Municipal Political Consultative Conference, Huang Li, Deputy District Mayor of Liangxi District, as well as the in-charge persons from the District Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, Liangxi District Bureau of Ecology and Environment, Yangming Sub-district, Liangxi Industrial Development Group, and the Investment Promotion and Science and Technology Innovation Department of Wuxi Liangxi Science and Technology City Management Bureau. The delegation inspected the Wuxi Commercial Aerospace Exhibition Hall and conducted on-site visits to Helium Starlight United and Oriental Space. Following the inspections, a forum was held for in-depth discussions. It was concluded that Wuxi's aerospace industry boasts a forward-looking vision, substantial potential, and vibrant vitality.

As emerging pollutants such as pesticide residues and microplastics quietly lurk in the corners of daily life, how to scientifically identify and effectively control them has become a focal point of public concern. To popularize knowledge about emerging pollutants and guide residents to adopt a green lifestyle, on the afternoon of January 27, 2026, at 15:00, the "Beautiful China: I Am an Actor — Recognize New Knowledge, Live a Green Life, Reduce Pollution and Carbon Emissions: Emerging Pollutant Science Popularization and Publicity" event was successfully held at the Moli Community Neighborhood Committee of Gaomidian Subdistrict, co-hosted by the Daxing District Bureau of Ecology and Environment, the Moli Community Neighborhood Committee of Gaomidian Subdistrict, and the Beijing International Society for Ecological Economy. The event attracted enthusiastic participation from numerous residents in Moli Community and surrounding areas.

The event featured a rich and diverse array of activities, allowing residents to effortlessly acquire emerging pollutant science knowledge through immersive experiences. During the expert lecture session, Dr. Wei Zhengzheng, a researcher from the Research Center for Environmental and Economic Policy under the Ministry of Ecology and Environment with years of experience in environmental health, was present in person. He conducted an in-depth analysis on the core topics of emerging pollutants, including their classification, sources, environmental impacts, detection methods, and control measures, with real-life cases as illustrations. The subsequent Q&A session was particularly lively: residents eagerly raised their hands to voice their daily environmental concerns, and Dr. Wei patiently answered each question one by one, helping the public gain a clearer understanding of emerging pollutants.

The society carefully set up a science popularization experiment demonstration area, where interactive experiments such as rapid pesticide residue detection and microplastic observation were carried out simultaneously. Microscopic observation quickly became a hit among children. Under the guidance of volunteer Gao Bin, participants got to perform the experiments themselves, explored the microscopic world up close, and learned practical pollution control techniques in a hands-on manner.

In addition, a science popularization display board area was set up on-site. Through vivid pictures and concise texts, it presented the four key characteristics of emerging pollutants, their common sources, specific hazards, and prevention suggestions. This enabled residents to gain a comprehensive understanding of persistent organic pollutants, microplastics, and other "stubborn environmental threats". Staff distributed science popularization brochures to passers-by and organized an interactive knowledge quiz, integrating science knowledge into fun games. Residents actively participated in answering questions, and their awareness of environmental protection and health was enhanced amid laughter and joy.

This emerging pollutant science popularization event transformed professional environmental protection knowledge into easy-to-understand explanations and actionable practices, allowing residents to acquire practical environmental protection skills right in their neighborhood. Participants expressed that the event was highly informative and rewarding. Not only did they learn about the potential hazards of emerging pollutants, but they also mastered effective daily control methods. They stated that they would start from small details in life, reduce the use of plastic products, stay away from "stubborn pollutants", and actively embrace a green and low-carbon lifestyle.

Beautiful China begins with action; a green life starts with me. The successful holding of this event has further enhanced the ecological and environmental awareness of community residents and laid a solid mass foundation for building a clean and beautiful home. Moving forward, the society will continue to organize a variety of science popularization and publicity activities, welcoming more residents to pay attention to and participate in them.

On January 27th, Dr. Liu Hongzhi, Vice President and Secretary-General of our Association, led a delegation to visit Meili Huaxia Ecological Environment Technology Co., Ltd., a joint venture company of Senteng Group. The delegation engaged in in-depth discussions with Mr. Zhang Sicheng, the Chairman of the company, and the senior management team.

Mr. Zhang Sicheng extended a warm welcome to the arrival of Dr. Liu and his delegation. He then led them on a tour of the company's exhibition hall, providing a detailed introduction to Senteng Group's overall situation and Meili Huaxia Ecological Environment Technology Co., Ltd.'s core strengths and development achievements in ecological protection and restoration, environmental technology R&D, and project implementation. Beneath the warm winter sun, a wave of science popularization swept through the bustling market. On January 24, 2026, the public welfare campaign of Science Popularization and Publicity on Emerging Contaminants, commissioned by the Social Work Department of the CPC Daxing District Committee of Beijing, undertaken by the Beijing International Association for Eco-Economy, and supported by the Ecological and Environmental Bureau of Daxing District, was held in a lively manner at the Xingfu Road Market in Panggezhuang Town and Daxing Greenland Fun City. The campaign, themed Acquire New Knowledge, Live a Green Life, Popularize Emerging Contaminant Knowledge for Pollution Reduction and Carbon Emission Cut, brought environmental protection concepts close to the people through down-to-earth publicity forms, attracting the enthusiastic participation of hundreds of residents and parent-child families in and around Daxing District.

“What are emerging contaminants?” “Is the water I drink safe?” Such questions filled the air at the event venue, with inquiries and discussions going back and forth. The staff had prepared informative science popularization brochures in advance, which included the definition, sources, potential hazards of emerging contaminants and scientific protection tips. Passing residents stopped to collect the brochures one after another, and many elderly people earnestly discussed the details of daily protection with the staff.

The poster publicity also garnered great attention from the public. Professionals in the environmental protection field explained the core knowledge of emerging contaminants in plain language combined with real-life examples, answering everyone’s questions one by one—from microplastics in drinking water to harmful chemicals in daily necessities. “I never knew that toys for kids and decoration materials at home may pose risks of emerging contaminants. I really learned practical protection methods today!” a young mother said with deep feeling after listening to the explanation.

The most popular part of the event was undoubtedly the Q&A session with canvas bag rewards. The staff handed out fun question cards related to emerging contaminants, and both adults and children joined in the activity on the spot, creating an extremely lively atmosphere. “You got all the answers right! Well done!” Young participants who answered all questions correctly took over the environmental-friendly canvas bags, their faces glowing with the joy of acquiring knowledge. “This Q&A format is so interesting. We can not only win prizes but also remember the knowledge points. Hope more such activities will be held in the future!” an elderly participant said with a smile after joining the interaction. “It’s really meaningful for kids to take part in such activities. Wonderful!” a young mother, who had brought her child to the market for grocery shopping, commented. Even foreign expats came to take an active part in the Q&A session.

The event was open to the public free of charge, attracting participants of all age groups. On the weekend, parents brought their children to learn environmental protection knowledge together, fostering awareness of ecological protection through interaction. Despite the large flow of people at the venue, everyone abided by the order voluntarily, conveying their passion for environmental protection knowledge amid the winter chill.

This campaign of popularizing emerging contaminant knowledge in the market transformed the professional environmental protection knowledge, once confined to the “ivory tower”, into practical content that the public can understand and apply, effectively raising the public’s awareness of emerging contaminants and their ability to protect themselves against such hazards. The governance of emerging contaminants requires “public participation and social co-governance”. In the future, the Association will continue to carry out a variety of science popularization and publicity activities, bringing environmental protection knowledge to more communities, enterprises and schools. Experts from our association, in collaboration with those from the Yunlonghu Laboratory and relevant enterprises and experts in Guizhou, have developed a new type of gelling agent. Specifically designed for phosphogypsum, this agent not only fully solidifies phosphorus and fluorine in the filling body – with a solidification efficiency over 50% higher than that of conventional gelling agents – but also exhibits enhanced strength and solidification performance over time. It can more effectively prevent the leaching of toxic substances, ensuring that the toxicity level of the leachate from the filling body is far below the national standards!

On January 14, 2026, our association and the Yunlonghu Laboratory paid a visit to the Xuzhou Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment.
