Notable Achievements and Research

Born in Shandong Province, Prof. Hao Jiming is a prestigious expert, professor and doctorate tutor in China. In 2005, he was elected the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. In 2014, he was elected president of the Council of International Ecological Economic Promotion Association (IEEPA) in Beijing. In 2017, he served as the first deputy director and expert group leader of the Joint Air Pollution Prevention and Control Center of the State Council. In February 2018, he was elected as a foreign academician of the National Academy of Engineering of the US.

He graduated from University of Cincinnati in 1984 with a doctorate degree. His main areas of research are energy, environment, and air pollution control engineering.

Prof. Hao Jiming devoted to the study of air pollution control in China for more than 40 years. He presided over the national control plan and countermeasures of acid subsidence, delineated the control area of acid rain and sulfur dioxide, and played a leading role in determining the countermeasures for the prevention and control of acid rain in China.

Prof. Hao Jiming led the establishment of national urban vehicle pollution control planning methodology, and promoted the process of vehicle pollution control in China. He carried out research on the characteristics, causes and control strategies of atmospheric compound pollution, developed the theoretical and technical methods of improving the air quality of the megacities, and improved the joint control of regional air pollution in China.
